Ms. Yurika S. Cooper is a Partner with the Washington, D.C. firm of Immigration Law Group, P.C. 

Ms. Cooper's area of expertise lies in business immigration, particularly H, E, L and O visa classifications. She obtains employment-based immigrant visas through the PERM process, through extraordinary ability visas (EB-1) for nationally and internationally acclaimed professional athletes, artists and scientists, as well as national interest waivers (NIW). She also handles investment issues, family-based petitions, naturalization applications and a variety of waiver issues, including J-1 waivers for physicians and non-physicians alike.  Ms. Cooper represents domestic and international corporate and institutional clients, as well as individuals and families.

Ms. Cooper's other responsibilities include I-9 compliance matters, consular processing and representation and immigration litigation before U.S. Immigration Courts and federal trial and appellate courts. She has successfully represented clients in removal/deportation proceedings involving asylum, cancellation of removal and crime-triggered immigration litigation. In addition to litigation and removal defense, she obtains humanitarian relief through the affirmative asylum process.

Ms. Cooper's interest in immigration law began in law school where she studied immigration and asylum law and was accepted into the law school's Immigration and Human Rights Law Clinic. She has been practicing immigration law since her graduation from law school. Since 1996, Ms. Cooper has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Bar Association of the State of California (inactive), the Bar Association of the State of Maryland and the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
