Ms. SAORI ISHIDA is an Associate at Immigration Law Group, PC. She is skilled in a wide array of immigration filings, including procurement of employment-based immigration benefits, PERM applications, H-1B visas, family-based immigration benefits, investor (E-2) visas, national interest waivers, extraordinary ability permanent residence and US citizenship. In particular, Ms. Ishida advises the firms' many Japanese corporate and individual clients in obtaining employment-based immigration benefits. She also works on deportation/removal defense and asylum cases. Ms. Ishida is a member of the State Bar of New York. She holds a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, and a M.A. in International Affairs from American University, School of International Services. Ms. Ishida developed her interest in immigration and nationality law while in law school, where she primarily studied immigration law and public international law. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ishida researched issues of rule of law and sex trafficking in Cambodia at the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. She was a research assistant at The War Crimes Research Office at American University, Washington College of Law. She was a contributor to the American Bar Association, Central and East European Law Initiative's publication, The CEDAW Assessemnt Tool-- An Assessment Tool Based on Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (2002). Ms. Ishida holds bachelor's degrees from St. Olaf College in MN and Ferris University in Yokohama, Japan. She is fluent in Japanese.
